Several regulatory updates have been released in recent weeks.
Regulation (EC) No. 1881/2006, which defines the limits for residues of contaminants in foodstuffs, has undergone numerous amendments following the reassessment of the hazardousness of various compounds.
In particular, we point out:
Reg. (EU) no. 2021/1317, concerning lead;
Reg. (EU) no. 2021/1323, concerning cadmium;
Reg. (EU) no. 2021/1399, concerning sclerotia and alkaloids Claviceps spp. ("ergot");
Reg. (EU) No. 2021/1408 on tropane alkaloids.
